The route from Pula leads through the Medulin Riviera, and in Vinkuran it passes by the old Roman quarry (Cava Romana) from where the stone was brought for the construction of the monumental amphitheater in Pula. In Banjole you can turn off the route south to Premantura, where you will find the entrance to Cape Kamenjak, the southernmost point of the Istrian peninsula and a protected landscape since 1996. From Banjole the route continues through the fishing villages of Pomer and Medulin, one of the most visited tourist destinations in Istria. It then passes through Ližnjan and Šišan and descends into the Velika Budava bay, after which it climbs towards the town of Kavran. On the undulating road, with beautiful views and pleasant shade, you drive through the picturesque villages of Pavičini, Šegotići, Krnica, Bratulići and Hreljići, Dobrani, Beloči and Plehuti, and in the village of Hrboki you can see the ridge of Mount Učka and its highest peak, Vojak (1401 m), and Raša Bay. You will soon come out onto the D66 road, cross it and drive to the centre of Barban, a picturesque medieval settlement idyllically situated on a hill above the Raša River. From Barban, the winding D66 road descends to the bridge over the Raša River, or rather to the very confluence of the Raša River into the sea and the fishing village of Trget. From Trget, there is a steep climb towards Salakovci along the county road ŽC5103, and the route continues towards the medieval town of Labin, known for its mining model, which is unique in this part of Europe.
