The popular cycling race Istraturist Trophy (Trofej Istraturist), 8th so far, will take place in the attractive landscape of Umag and its surroundings from 23 to 25 March. The race in question is a stage road race, composed of several shorter tracks. It is of international character and open to several categories.

The Istraturist Trophy will be taking place during the preparations for the main competition season, making it the perfect opportunity for native and foreign clubs to meet head-on with various opponents and test if they are keeping themselves in shape.

On the first day of the tournament, Friday the 23rd of March, the contestants will be facing a mountain chronometer race on the 6.5 km (4 miles) long Livade - Ipši - Oprtalj route. The start of the first cyclist is scheduled for 17:00.

On Saturday, the contestants will pass the 2nd stage through the circular track (distance 5,5, km) Medigija - Alberi - Valfontane - Crveni Vrh - Medigija in northwest Istria, and on Sunday, 25 March, they will ride along the circular track Babići - Šverki - Kranceti - Juricani - Čepljani - Škrinjari - Babići (distance 8 km).

The winners will receive cups and medals, as well as free accommodation in Umag hotels and apartments for several days.

Not only does the Istraturist Trophy offer loads of sporting excitement, but it also enhances the status of Northwest Istria as an exceptional cycling destination, both due to its natural prerequisites and its first-class organisation and specialised services for sports guests.
