Cycling - gastronomic event

First weekend of May just got more exciting for cycle enthusiasts as road cycling, gourmet food and fine wine is combined by Boscarin Fondo. The event is named after boscarin, a Croatian indigenous breed of ox. Once a symbol of labour force today is a synonym for strength and endurance - the same characteristic required from cyclists planning to attend this event.

Boscarin Fondo Singolo features two routes, each designed for different tastes and physical strengths. Corso Bello, a 60 km long ride will see cyclist ride central Istria stopping by family-owned prosciutto producers to test authentic home-made food and wine, before making a stop for lunch in famous Kabola winery in Momjan northern Istria. Corso Grande, aimed at keen cyclists ready to ride 120 kilometers through winding Istrian roads to reach the same winery for wine tasting and hearty lunch.

The package includes guided, mapped and marked bike rides, Boscarin Fondo gear, support wagon, wine and food tasting and a hearty lunch at a winery. For those interested in having a complete cycle holiday, there is Boscarin Fondo Completo, a three-day event taking place on 1st-3rd of May.

Through bike rides, gourmet food, wine tastings and great company, it will be easy to understand why Istria is recognized as Croatian cycling capital.
