Among the large number of amateur cycling races on the Istrian peninsula, the Limes Bike Tour organised by the Vrsar Tourist Board is getting more and more important.
The start is on Vrsar's waterfront, and a large part is ridden through the Kontija forest. A stop above the Pirate's Cave on the slopes of Lim Bay is obligatory as it offers a breath-taking view and is an ideal chance to take a photograph from this attractive viewpoint. For all participants of the race, the tour is recommended for persons older than 14 years, scheduled for 14th May, lunch is provided at the Hunting House (Lovačka Kuća) in the Protected Forest of Kontija.
Enrolments should be made via email to outdoor@maistra.hr. The Limes Bike Tour trail mainly runs on a macadam road so it is most suitable for riding on mountain bikes, although it can be ridden on trekking and electric bikes too.
