The Asparagus Cycling (Biciklom u šparoge) recreational tour was inspired by the self-grown plant itself, which has been an important ingredient of the Istrian national cuisine since ancient times.

The tour is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. in the town of Kaštel near Buje. A macadam road stretching over some 25 kilometres (15.5 miles) leads towards Plovanija and Kanegra, then returns towards Kaštel along a part of the Parenzana route, with the possibility of minor route changes depending on the weather conditions. Wearing protective helmets is mandatory and bringing a spare tube is recommended.
